We must continue to work on Smart Growth. Smart Growth maintains or increases our quality of life.
If we are not proactive in planning our future growth, West Jordan's Quality of Life goes down.
We don't want to sit in traffic jams during commute times. Increased commute times not only affects our family lives or free time, but it increases air pollution.

I have been mindful of the stewardship The Council has over taxpayer funds and worked hard to protect those funds. This past year the Council made difficult decisions dealing with City finances but we have set the firm foundation for the City’s success.
I have worked with other Council members and we have stabilized water and other utility rates.

When you think of local government you do not think that we are involved with issues that affect your constitutional rights. However, Council decisions do affect your rights on a regular basis.

***Voted Against Budget Amendment that gave Council free tickets to city events for family members.
***Worked Hard with Stakeholders and ensured a Pay Raise for Public Safety to keep our well-trained First Responders working in West Jordan.
Voted Against Taxes and Tax Increase
Kelvin voted against the Enterprise Fund Transfer. Kelvin voted against the property tax increase.. He continues to fight to ensure your tax money is protected.
Updated Ordinances
Many of our ordinances that are out of date. Kelvin has worked hard to fix outdated ordinances. Kelvin was the primary author of the updated Alcohol Beverage Ordinance.. The ordinance streamlined processes, removed stove-pipes in City government, and made the ordinance simpler to understand. This should facilitate bringing new restaurants to the City who saw our ordinances as difficult to navigate.

Kelvin will continue to serve as a council member this term. He will continue to show the same focus and dedication that has led to West Jordan's progress and growth.
